I was reading an article that came in from the Futurist by Thomas Frey about jobs going away.
Which is a trend I have been following for over a decade ever since I read Jeremy Rikin’s
book “The End of Work” where he for saw the decline of jobs in America happening
for the variety of reasons that it has. I’d be curious to reread the original volume and
see if the predictions were accurate.

The bottom line is many more jobs are going away then new jobs are being created.
With more people out of work and resources dwindling on a finite planet this is “the
pink elephant in the living room”, or “it not just a recession stupid!”

One of the really interesting points about Frey’s article is that he mentions “Micro Grids”
where power isn’t spread over a massive central system it is in more regional hubs,

To begin with, these technologies will shift utilities around the world from national grids
to micro grids that can be scaled from a single home to entire cities.
The dirty power era will finally be over and the power lines that dangle menacingly over our neighborhoods,
will begin to come down. All of them.

I think this is indicative of other future trends that are going to be happening, the era of globalization
will begin to be able to turn back to small, grids of life, food, energy, politics and community.
Further in the article he speaks about 3D printers that will be able to build goods on demand to spec,
which will mean that everyday items can be made regionally and not have to be shipped across the globe.

I am going to continue to look for trends and technologies show the shift from mass produced global,
to a renaissance of localized micro production, content and organization.

The world today is going through a transformation
this is the time to take a moment and pause from the
distractions of the day and begin to realize that
the future that we think we are creating isn’t something
the we really know.

This is the crux of the situation
Singularity the expression born out of the total
and incomprehensible speed of change and complexity
of life as we know it on earth.

Systems are breaking down and born simultaneously
out of the thin air we all share, at once fresh
and polluted from smokestacks across the world.

A few consistencies have remained apparent in the inquiry
of the past decade and they are non-duality, the expression
of creative human transformation, entrepreneurship and technology.

It has been a struggle to decide what tactic or strategy to use
in finding a niche and becoming a thought leader in “something”.
It seems a lot more appealing to me to be an expert on everything
and nothing at the same time. Non-Duality is the everything and nothing
at the same time and in this vastness and philosophical and spiritual inquiry
many people doze off in a sleepy haze of apathy, or perhaps playing
lord of the spiritual ghetto, claiming to “know” the answers of the ages.

The one thing I can say for certain is that the myths and legends of all
spiritual legends are simply myths to live by or die for, or kill for depending
on how the story goes. In this time the need for these stories is high for
those clinging to belief systems and more irrelevant than ever due to the
awareness of subsequent generations that these systems are overdue
for a permanent vacation so humanity can get on with the business
of creating a more humane and viable way of being.
